Abstract
The article contains the dynamics of the main indicators of Russian banking system during the last years (1999–2009): assets of the banking sector to GDP ratio and capital to GDP ratio, loan portfolio, financial results; comparison with other countries banking systems indicators; capability of the level of asset concentration; the world financial crisis’ influence on the banking system; measures provided by The Bank of Russia and Government of Russia to establish the situation.
