Author Guidelines

I.    Guidelines for Authors:

The editors of the journal «Russian Journal of Industrial Economics» is governed by the provisions of Chapter 70 "Copyright" of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation as well as codes and standards developed by the International  Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

An article  transmitted to the editor, must comply with thematic sections of the journal «Russian Journal of Industrial Economics» (consider separate sections) , contain the original author's research results and must be shaped in accordance with these requirements.

1.   A license agreement for the right to publish free of charge must be signed (consider the  site “license agreement”);
2.   The author (authors) must provide a reference containing following data: name, patronymic, surname translated into English (Latin latters), essential  when compiling the quoting base, academic degree (PhD, PhD, PhD, Doctor of Science, etc.); academic rank (assistant professor, professor); office rank; structural units and organization, E-mail address, postal address, including zip code, telephone numbers; data of the responsible  author to be contacted by the editor have to be marked in bold letters (please  indicate additionally the cell number);
3. The results of checking the text for originality by the Anti-Plagiarism system;
4.   Expert conclusion from an affiliated organization proving the ability to open publishing (if necessary, after consultation with the editors).

  articles of  political nature that contain  biased or  incorrect assessments of other scientific papers and other professionals.

  ·    Reprinting, all kinds of copy and reproduction of  published materials in the journal are permitted only with the written consent of the publisher.

II.   Authors’ ethics

The authors of the manuscript comply with ethical requirements and are responsible for the lack of publication of plagiarism (unfair citation); they ensure the absence of  research results falsification, the accuracy and reproducibility of the research results according to methods described.

The authors of the manuscript bear joint responsibility for the content of scientific articles in the publication, as well as for lack of any information that may be classified as a state secret or commercial secret of organizations, whose  materials have been used. All authors should be active participants in the research, the results of which are presented in the article. Inclusion in the team of authors, the sequence of the authors mentioning in  the article are determined by the authors themselves. It is allowed  to refer  to the names of the researchers and those with a "student" status  (student, masters, postgraduate students) which were  involved in solving this scientific problem, as well as to projects and grants, which were carried out in the framework of the study.

The authors are obliged not to send the manuscript with  same or similar content (copying illustrative materials) to other publisher  until the final decision on publication  in journal in question has been made.

III.  Rules  of manuscript presenting

The article (with pictures) in presented in Word for Windows format. The  abstract,  200–250 words (in Russian and English) and keywords (7–11 words) are attached.

The standard volume of articles: up to  1 unit (40 000 ens), including drawings (no more than 4 figures). The final volume, the number of figures and tables are coordinated with the editors. The text is printed with 1.5 line spacings.

1.      The manuscript should include:
  • Title;
  • UDC;
  • Full list  of  authors indicating full names;
  • Full name of the organization for each of the authors indicating   city and country;
  • contact email address;
  • Information on the article in English: title of the paper, the names and initials of authors, organization, structural subdivision, city, country, email address;
  • structured principle text, figures and tables have to be placed inside;
  • list of references in two versions:

           1)   meeting  the  GOST 7.0.5-2008 requirements;

           2)  To be used in databases quoting scientific publications.

1.1  The authors are asked  to use preferably  the following  types: Times New Roman – for text, Symbol – for Greek letters, MathematicalPi2 – for manuscripts and Gothic characters.

1.2  Use physical units and designations adopted in the International System of Units (GOST 9867-61)   in the relative field of science, When naming chemical compounds, it is desirable to use the  IUPAC terminology.

2.    Typesetting guidelines

2.1      Do not use more than one space – use indentations and tabs.

2.2      Do not end the line by pressing «Enter» – it is used only to start a new paragraph.

2.3      Use the opportunities provided by a text editor: automatic creation of footnotes, automatic transfer or automatic ban transfers, compiling lists, automatic indentation, etc.

2.4      Do not type Cyrillic characters similar in shape to Latin letters, and vice versa.

2.5      The letter "ё" is  everywhere replaced by "e" except names and special occasions.

2.6      Don’t  replace the hyphen "-" for dash "–".

2.7      The text and formulas (including index) letters are typed in italics, and the Greek and Russian ones – usual

2.8      Decimal digits in the Russian-language text are separated by commas (0.5), and in the English - through the point (0.25 instead of 0,25).

2.9      Avoid mixed use of Russian and Latin indices. Indices should be explained in the text.

2.10.   The date  (day, month, year) is  fixed as follows: 02.05.2015. 

3.       Recommendations for a set of formulas

3.1  Formulas and diagrams are located at the appropriate  place in the text.

3.2  Signs *, ', ±, single letters of the Greek alphabet, single oblique or bold letters, single variables or symbols that have only the upper or only the lower index, units, figures in the text, as well as the simple mathematical or chemical formula (for example, a2 + b2 = c2, H2SO4) should be typed in text mode without the use of embedded frames.

3.3  Remote mathematical formulas (presented in a separate line) should be typed using the Equation Editor (Equation, MathType). It is  not allowed  to use the configuration , where a  part of the formula is the table,  the other part – the text, and the other  part – the introduction frame.

3.4  For formulas, typed in the formula editor, please, use general  types setting,  character size and  their placement. The forced  manual change for separate characters or elements of formulas is not permitted.

4.       Recommendations how to set tables

4.1 The tables are located in the text of the manuscript, or  on  separate sheet at the end of the manuscript.

4.2 Tables should be numbered in Arabic figures in the sequence they are mentioned in the text. When a table is presented, its title follows  the word "Table".

4.3 All columns in the tables should have titles and be separated by vertical lines. In the "cap" it is preferable to indicate  parameters with letters  and units. For example: t, ° C; V, vol.%; HV, etc. MPa

4.4 Abbreviations of words in the tables are not allowed.

4.5 Set a table through  MS Word (Table – Add Table) or MS Excel. Tables that were created manually using spaces or tabs, can not be used.

5.       Acronyms and Abbreviations

5.1  Avoid abbreviations. All abbreviation  in the text  should be decipherede, with the exception of a small number of commonly used ones.

5.2  Reduction of multiple words are separated by spaces (760 mm Hg. Gr. etc), except  commonly used ones(etc ,ie) and acronyms (XRF , efficiency, etc.).

5.3  After reduction of numerals "million - mln" "billion -mlrd" point is not assigned.

6.     Dimensions

6.1  Dimensions are  separated by a space digit (17.5 mol / m3; 77 K; 58 J / mol;  50 m / s, 20 °C, 50%), except angular degree of 90°.

6.2  The dot after the dimensions is not put (s – second, g – grams,  day – day, degrees – degrees). In complex dimensions the multiplication sign must be indicated (x): N · m / s or kg / (s · m · Pa).

6.3  For complex dimensions both negative powers (J · mol-1 · K-1 · (J · mol-1 · K-1) and the brackets can be used, if this facilitates their reading  .

6.4  In the listing, as well as in the numerical intervals  the dimension is indicated for the last figure (10, 15 and 45 minutes, from 18 to 20 mm), except in angular degrees: 5 ° –10 °, rather than 5–10 °.

6.5  Dimension variables are written with a comma (E, J / mol or E, J / mol), and the values of the logarithm, – in square brackets without  comma: ln t [min].

The main condition  is the consistency of the same dimensions across  the article.

7.       Dots and gaps

7.1  The dot is not placed after the title, list of authors, a list of addresses, headings and subheadings, table names and captions.

7.2  The dot  is not placed after the cuts  (Tm - melting point).

7.3  References to figures and tables are typed with spaces (Fig. 5, Table. 2).

7.4  Quotes and brackets are not separated by spaces from the enclosed words (at 300 K), (a).

7.5  Number or paragraph sign is spaced from the figure (№ 1; § 5.5).

7.6  Figures and letters in the notation have  no space (IVd; 1.3.14a; Fig. 1a).

7.7  In the geographic coordinates figures of latitude are separated by spaces: 56,5° C or 56,5° N; In 85,0° В or     85,0° E.

7.8  When mentioning  names there is a gap after the dot r. Yenisey, с. Novosibirsk

8.       Requirements for illustrations

8.1  Illustrations and captions  (and diagrams as well) are placed in the text of the manuscript, or on a separate sheet at the end of the manuscript .

8.2  Illustrations should be numbered in the sequence  they are mentioned in the text in Arabic numerals. The text should contain links to all the pictures.

8.3  Each figure is followed by relative caption.

8.4  General technical specifications:

  1. Illustrations should be sized according to their informative  content: 8-8.5 cm (one column) or 17-17.5 cm (two columns);
  2. inscriptions and symbols in the illustrations may vary between Russian and English versions, when translated, so it is desirable to provide a photo of the second version without the text and all the symbols for the other illustrations to  have inscriptions in the illustration so that they do not touch any part thereof;
  3. for inscriptions and symbols, use standard TrueType fonts.
  4. Please do not use gray color or grid as the background  of illustration

8.5  Line illustrations (example):

  1. graphs and charts are  desirable to be  prepared with the help of  vector editing software;
  2. they should have a resolution of at least 600 dpi;
  3. line thickness should be  not be less than 0,5 pt;
  4. vector illustration should not contain point painting such as «Noise» «Black & white noise» «Top noise”;
  5. for all vector graphics  the fonts must be included in the file.
9.     References

References includes sources containing materials used by the author when writing the article,  they are presented according to samples below.  The content  of the sources  should reflect the state of research in different countries  on the problem in question..

9.1     Links should be made available for scientific community, so DOI publication  presence is welcomed

9.2     Number of references should be at least 20 with a significant share of foreign sources.

9.3     References in the text are presented in square brackets, for example [1] or [2–5]. The numbering sequence should correspond  with sources referred to in the text.

9.4     Links to dissertations, abstracts of dissertations, theses for the degree  are permitted if their electronic versions are available

9.5     Links to textbooks and manuals are of secondary importance, being not very accessible for  wider scientific community they must occupy not more than  10-15%.

9.6     References to unpublished works are not permitted.

9.7     Self-citations should not exceed 20%.

9.8     Considering that the magazine is included  in the scientific publications  citation database  the traditional list of references (GOST 7.0.5-2008)must  be supplemented by  additional list with the translation of Russian sources in Latin and English. Please, apply the BSI transliteration system  (see. http://ru.translit.net/?account=bsi).

III.           Regulations for manuscript reviewing

An article manuscript is reviewed by 1–2 l specialists (usually a doctor of economic, technical or physical and mathematical sciences)  leading in relative  field (one-side blind  review – the author does not know the reviewer).

The reviewer can draw following conclusions :

       ·    "Recommended for publication";

       ·    Recommended  for publication taking into consideration the noted drawbacks”;

       ·    “Not recommended”.

The reviewer complies with ethical requirements and does not  use the information received during reviewing   prior to publication  (see reviewing ethics).

The final decision on the possibility of publishing  is adopted by joint decision of the chief editor, executive secretary and managing editor.

The editorial Board complies with the ethical standards of confidentiality of  scientific information prior to publication ..

IV.            The order and timing of the article publication*
  1. The received manuscript passes the preliminary examination, during which  the following will be  assessed:

–     if the  manuscript contents correspond with  the thematic  scope of the magazine ;

–     if the form of the article complies  with the requirements of the manuscript presentation set above (see. P. 3 of the Rules);

–     if the article is  accompanied with  required papers (see. P. 1 of the Rules).

      1.1   In case  the manuscript does not correspond with the thematic  scope of the magazine the  authors are informed  that manuscript is declined. In case the authors failed to comply with requirements of the manuscript presentation the authors are offered to  correct deficiencies within 3 – 5 days. Otherwise, the manuscript  is also not accepted for further consideration

 

      1.2   In case the  manuscript complies with  all requirements and magazine policies  the  article is recorded in the electronic database and  is sent to the primary review.

  1. Review

2.1 The initial review  takes 2-4 weeks. The manuscript is sent to the leading expert on the subject of research - one-sided blind review (the authors do not know the name of the reviewer, reviewer is familiar with the authors)

If the reviewer's comes to conclusion " recommended considering correction the noted deficiencies", the  articles and reviews are sent by email to the author responsible for answering questions and correcting the manuscript . If the amended article  is not returned within one month from the date of dispatch , the article is rejected.

  1. If the review is negative  the article is sent to the other  leading expert.
  2. In case both reviews are negative ("not recommended"), the manuscript is rejected.

2.2   Secondary review (1-2 week). The manuscript amended considering the comments is  sent to the reviewers to approve the amended version .

2.3 At a chief editor meeting  the  final decision about the  publication is taken

  1. Editorial correction and layout of the article (2 months). DOI assignment
  2. Placing articles with DOI  on  the website under the heading "accepted for publication".
  3. The authors works with proofreading (1 week).
  4. The article is published in the magazine "Economics in the industry," according  the publishing plan
  5. Estimated time of placing the article DOI on the magazine's website under the heading "accepted for publication" from the date of registration of the manuscript in the electronic database of the magazine should not exceed 4 months.

* The order shall come into force from the 2nd half 2015

Fee for publication is not charged.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The manuscripts are accepted if has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
  2. The materials should be prepared in a format OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or World Perfect.
  3. Internet links are provided as a complete URL. 

  4. Text should be typed with an interval of 1,5 line spacing, font Times New Roman, 12 pt; to highlight the accents it is recommended to use italics rather than underlining (except Internet links). All images, graphics and tables are placed within the text according to the meaning of the particular part of text  (and not at the end of the document).
  5. Text should follow the stylistic and bibliography requirements as stated in  Regulations  located in the Part "About Us." 

  6. Please, remove the authors' names from the title of the article and other parts of the document to ensure the  anonymity of reviewing.

 

Copyright Notice

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication.
  2. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.
